Abstract
It’s generally acknowledged that playing games is one of the most important parts of children’s life. The life of children without playing games is incomplete and not wonderful. Being aware of the importance of games for children, more and more educational institutions and schools have introduced game teaching method in their English classes for children. However, the practice and theories of game teaching method in China are still not mature and many problems remain unsolved.
From the perspective of Krashen’s second language acquisition theory, the paper aims to: arouse teachers’ awareness of the significance of game teaching in their teaching; find out the problems of game teaching existing in English training classes for children; correspondingly explore how English teachers for kids can properly apply games to their practice of English teaching to stimulate the interest of students and active the classroom atmosphere and make students learn English more cheerfully and effectively. The paper falls into five parts. The first part serves as an introduction. The second part aims at making a literature review on relevant theories of game-assistant teaching. The third part explores the current situations of game teaching in China. The fourth part probes into strategies of improving English game teaching for children. The final part naturally draws a conclusion about game teaching for children.

摘要眾所周知,游戲是兒童生活中很重要的一部分。離開了游戲,兒童的生活將會不完整、不精彩。正是因為看到了游戲教學的重要性,越來越多的教育機構、學校已經把游戲教學法引入到兒童英語課堂教學中。然而在中國,關于游戲教學的理論研究和實踐都尚不成熟,在教學實踐中還存在許多尚未解決的問題。
本文在語言學家克拉申的二語習得理論的指導下, 力圖使老師們意識到游戲教學的意義,并發現兒童英語游戲教學中存在的問題,由此探討兒童英語教師如何恰當地把游戲應用于教學實踐中,以激發學生興趣、活躍課堂氣氛,讓孩子更有效、更愉悅地學習英文。希望本論文能供兒童英語教師參考之用。
